In this world there are many different types of people. There are people who slip, there are people who fall, and then there are people who slip and fall. I guess you can call these the hard points in life. These are the moments you hope nobody is watching so you can quickly brush yourself off and continue with your day, internally suppressing because “things happen” and “everything will work out.”
Everybody eventually boils over. Everybody has a “WOE IS ME!!” and looses it. I used to think of myself as someone who slipped but never fell. Therefore, I was better off than the people who actually fell. How stupid of a thought when I actually fell. The problem with that is coming off as non transparent. If you’re going to fall just fall and fix your problem up. There is something beautiful about vulnerability; it is not a weakness. When you slip, you catch yourself and think no one has seen, catch yourself and think no one has seen. Such is the wound that festers and burns. You look erratic and even unstable, assuming the mask and persona of balance. Sometimes it takes a good fall to understand how to properly stand!
You aren’t going to stay down, but for a moment you are lost. It’s human nature to have such moments, to doubt. But being made anew we are Spiritual beings. I sometimes forget that and begin to waiver, but that is past life. We are forever strong and standing. In moments that we slip we must never stop hoping. Romans 4:20-21:
20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
In moments when we lose our balance and we slip or even when we fall completely we must remind ourselves of God’s resume. Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
We obviously were not there for every miracle God performed but just know He did it. He has plans to proper us, to make us rulers of nations, to change the next generation. Take a look back into the Bible and see all that he has done! Y’ALL HIS RESUME IS SOO PERFECT!! You may have fallen but I am telling you God will transform your slips or falls or slips and falls and give you a life so balanced with joy and peace and sheesh all that you ask for!
With a resume as colorful as that of the Lord’s understand that there is no way you can stay down. There is no way you can keep slipping and falling. Recognize a fault but also recognize who God is. His resume is perfect. Specifically designed for you to be at His side, standing, and winning, in every aspect of your life. Yea, we fall. But with the grace of God we win.
